TemixNigeria

Temi x Nigeria

On December 3rd, 2014 I took a two week trip to my home town, Nigeria (Lagos, Nigeria to be exact). The last time I traveled to Nigeria was in 2009 and I wasn't a photographer then, so when I decided to go this year, I made sure I had my camera ready.

My goal for this trip was to document Nigeria in a way that wasn't shown on TV. When I was in Highschool everyone thought I lived in Huts and killed lions (this is what they saw on discovery channel.) I decided to make sure I captured Nigeria in the most Authentic way possible.

Once we landed I immediately felt the temperature change. It was humid and hot! I got off the plane and headed to claim my baggage. There were 2 lines. One for people with a Nigerian Passport (this was faster) and one for people who didn't have a Nigerian passport. I just became an American citizen in 2010 so I stood at the non-nigerian passport holder line.ere…

Immediately after getting my bags, I headed out to meet my family and head over to my aunties house. As I was waiting for them to arrive, I saw this man sitting at the top bridge road and he was surrounded by birds. I had to take a picture because it was honestly one of the most amazing sights ever.

THIRD DAY

After resting for about 2 days, I decided to take a trip around Lagos. These were some of the things I saw throughout my 3rd day in Nigeria.
